There are so many great recipes and type of foods out there, it would be impossible for me to learn or create a recipe for all of them. I have decided to do bi-weekly roundups to share and appreciate other brilliant recipes and people on my blog.
I can safely say that my chosen first food genre can be everyone’s favorite, let’s just say that I’ve never heard anyone dislike foods from this country. I am talking about Italian food, oh mama mia! Growing up in America, we have “American food”. Essentially, traditional American food is just a melting pot of food that some of our early European immigrants brought over in early century. Italian food makes up a great percentage of that melting pot. Because recipes have been passed down from generations to generations, flavors and ingredients could have been modified to fit the current circumstance, so which means the authenticity could be diluted too. When I visited Italy for the first time 12 years ago, I was amazed that Italian food was very different than Italian food in America. Perhaps I am generalizing a bit. I have noticed that real authentic pizza in Italy are very thin, it is almost nonexistent to find the typical domino’s or pizzahut type of pizza. The closest recipe you will find that might resemble the slightest bit could be the pizza magheritta or the Quattro stagioni. So I have decided to feature 10 authentic Italian recipes on here, so enjoy!
