Make breakfast in 7 minutes!
This is my first documented Phillips Airfryer recipe. I always love a good breakfast sandwich and I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ever since my friend introduced me to Phillips Airfryer, I have been using this to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you haven’t heard of this yet, it is a small cute kettle lookalike gadget that fries with hot air (with a dash of oil or no oil). The end result is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. In fact, this is my second airfryer, I bought their first version when I was living in SF. The second version is available in Europe now, so I bought their new one instead. It cooks 40% faster than a traditional broiler/oven. If you don’t have an airfryer, you can also use a traditional oven in the grill setting (for Americans, broiler would do).
In this recipe, I used free range egg, extra matured cheddar cheese and English bacon. You can substitute all those three ingredients with something else, especially cheese or bacon. One of the many benefits of living in Europe is you can always find a huge selection of inexpensive good quality cheese around (it’s everywhere). I chose English bacon because it has more lean meat, but of course you can use regular American bacon (streaky bacon in UK) too.
Tips: you can always add some condiments like hot sauce, ketchup or mustard (go with dijon if you want to impress someone).
- 1 free range egg
- 1 English bacon or 2 streaky bacons
- 1 English muffin
- 1 pinch of pepper and salt
- crack the egg into an oven proof souffle cup or bowl
- place egg, bacon and muffin into the airfryer
- turn airfryer to 200ºc (395ºf) for 6 minutes
- assemble sandwich and enjoy
